Upgrading facilities

You start Club Manager as a lowly Division 3 club with a depleted playing staff and undesirable club facilities. In order to reach the top you'll have to upgrade both over the 10 seasons of the game.

There are 5 facilities you can upgrade, and each one brings its own very worthwhile benefits. Those facilities are: stadium, recruitment, youth academy, medical centre and club store.

To upgrade a facility, either (a) place one staff member and pay £15, or (b) place two staff members and pay £5. Which facility will you prioritise?

Stadium

If you upgrade your stadium you get a matchday income boost and can eventually attract the best players to sign for you.

Your matchday income is set at £1-3 depending on which division your club is in. With a stadium upgrade you get +£2 per home match, and that can be the difference between signing a handful of new players or not...

In addition, only clubs with an upgraded stadium can sign players with a starting ability of 8+

Recruitment

You start the game with 3 staff members and you'll quickly discover it's not enough. They are responsible for scouting, player development, marketing, physio work, and so much more! The solution to this problem is upgrading your recruitment facility. This will give you 1 extra worker, permanently.

Youth academy

Nothing beats the feeling of bringing youth players through your system and seeing them cement their place in your first XI. You can get there quicker by upgrading your youth academy.

When you have an upgraded youth academy, every youth player card you receive gets an immediate +2 ability boost.

Medical centre

Injury prone players can really hamper your chances of building momentum and gaining crucial league points. Minimise the risk by upgrading your medical facilities.

When you have an upgraded medical centre your players injured in the post-match die roll will only miss 1 week of action.

Club store

In order to achieve anything in Club Manager you'll need a decent level of income. An upgraded club store boosts the income you make from marketing.
